The club celebrated the 2018 season with our annual banquet where the top scoring photographers received their acclaim and one special member received the second annual Bob Allen Award for outstanding service to the club. We shared good food and good friendship and look forward to another great year.
Also, Scott Harris provided a recap of achievements made by various club members during the 2018 year.
Cyndi Savage was awarded 2nd place in the Old Carolina Photography Show at Falls River Gallery in Albemarle, NC.
Mark Kwiatkowski submitted his sunset of a cypress tree to the North Carolina State Fair competition.
Russ Niemi received a 2nd place in the 2018 Chapel Hill Garden Tour competition with his “Japanese Maple Plus” photography.
Sameer Potdar’s photograph “A Winter Ride” received an Honorable Mention in the William B. Umstead State Park photography competition and his photo “A Little Night Light Painting” was selected by the Carolina Country magazine’s annual photo contest and published in their January 2019 issue.
Mike Aliff and Cyndi Savage made photos at the Envision St. Agnes Hospital event. Mike’s photo was included in the Envision exhibit at the Block Gallery in Raleigh. Cyndi had a photograph used at the African American Cultural Celebration at the North Carolina Museum of History.
Nancy Arehart was a regional winner in The Fence. The Fence is the largest outdoor photography exhibition series in North America which is displayed in eight cities in the U. S. and Canada.
